We are always willing to search our registers for people researching their family history. Our Registers cover 1558 to the present day except for lost registers for 1690 to 1701 and 1709 to 1742. Requests should be made in writing to: The Honorary Archivist, St Albans Cathedral, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 1BY. There will be a small charge.
Please bear in mind the following:
Although a Cathedral, we only have the Registers for the Parish of St Albans Abbey. The other ancient parishes in St Albans are St Michael's, St Peter's and St Stephen's. Their older registers are lodged with the Record Office, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford SG1 8DE www.hertsdirect.org.uk/ Look on the Heritage Channel - Archives and Local Studies (HALS)
