The Study Centre is an ecumenical centre for Christian learning founded in 1974 and based at the Cathedral. The centre provides a variety of learning opportunities including courses of lectures on Biblical subjects, prayer and spirituality, Christian doctrine, philosophy, and Church history; occasional evening lectures, Saturday study days and workshops, day trips and tours. Some of the courses are offered in partnership with the University of Cambridge, Department of Continuing Education, and offer credits for students working towards qualifications through the university. From October 2001 the centre will also be offering a one year foundation course, Together with Christ, designed by the Diocese of St Albans.
